CSKA extends contract with Nikita Kurbanov and splits with Darran Hilliard

CSKA Moscow announced the extension of the contract with team captain Nikita Kurbanov. The new agreement with the Russian forward is valid until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Kurbanov spent 9 seasons in CSKA. He played in 34 games in the 2020/21 league, averaging 5.4 points and 3.6 rebounds. 

– CSKA is my team and it helped me to become who I am and win a lot of titles, – said Nikita Kurbanov after the extension of the contract with the club. – I feel responsible for my hometown club and I am glad to be useful to it. I am sure we will be strong again next year and go to the titles. I’ll try to do my best.

That same day CSKA announced that Darrun Hilliard left the team. The American guard left the Army club upon the expiration of his contract.

Hilliard has played for CSKA for two seasons and played 42 games in the United League. In 2020/21 season he scored 10.4 points on 35% three-point shooting.
