On September 17, the season-opening press conference was held in VTB Arena in Moscow, dediceted to the start of the new season. The press conference were attended by Honorary President of the VTB United League Sergey Ivanov, the League President Sergey Kushchenko and the League CEO Ilona Korstin.
9 Russian teams budgets participating in the 2020/21 season were also announced at the press conference.
In the first place in terms of the amount of the budget, as in the previous season, is CSKA – 2 billion 370 million rubles. Also in the top three are Khimki (2 billion 149 million rubles) and Zenit (1 billion 500 million rubles). Next are Lokomotiv-Kuban (1 billion 076 million rubles), UNICS (850 million rubles), Nizhny Novgorod (302 million rubles), Enisey (237 million rubles), PARMA (294 million rubles) and Avtodor (208 million rubles).
As part of the press conference, a new partner of the League was presented. It became the bookmaker company Olimpbet.
