Billy Baron stays in Zenit!

Zenit St. Petersburg announced the extension of the contract with American guard Billy Baron.

Billy Baron joined Zenit last summer and played 25 games in the United League season, scoring 10.4 points in 20.2 minutes. The guard was also the team’s second-leading sharp shooter behind Vitaly Fridzon, hitting 43.5 percent of his three-pointers.

Billy Baron was named VTB United League MVP of the month in September and October. He averaged 16.3 points (52.4% shooting from the field) and 4.3 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals.

“My wife and son and I are looking forward to being part of the Zenit family for the next two years,” commented Billy Baron on the signing of the new contract. “We love St. Petersburg, it’s good that we were able to come to an agreement with the club. I look forward to working with Xavier Pascual and his coaching staff in the future to continue the success we had last season.”
