Andrey Kirilenko hass been re-elected RBF president.
The vote took place on August 20. Kirilenko’s only rival was basketball coach and manager Eduard Sandler. Kirilenko got 109 delegates’ votes while Sandler had 16.
Andrey Kirilenko – two-time VTB United League champion as CSKA player (2012, 2015) – finished his professional career in 2015 and some months later took the office at Russian basketball federation.
It shall be noted that according to the agreement with Russian basketball federation (RBF), VTB United League is in possession of rights to hold national championship.

“Congratulations to Andrey, he did a great job clearing the federation’s problem spots. It took time to get back a positive image. Obviously, Kirilenko improved the international relations status. His next term will cover reserve training and mass sport. Relations with VTB League and constructive and collaborative. We’ve established great communication and will keep on working.”
