Lokomotiv-Kuban forward Andrei Zubkov has been named the VTB United League December MVP.
The League’s MVP of the Month award is decided on by the League and TASS information agency.
Zubkov played in three games in December, averaging 14 points, 2.3 assists and 6 rebounds.
Lokomotiv-Kuban went undefeated during that stretch, beating CSKA, Zenit and Astana.
The Russian national team forward beat out UNICS guard Quino Colom and Enisey forward Suleiman Braimoh.
– I’m happy that a national team player is enjoying success and has been named the League’s top player in December, – noted Russia national team coach Sergei Bazarevich. – Andrei is improving and has gained a lot of confidence over the past two seasons. Among his strengths, he does an excellent job of reading the game. Zubkov is unquestionably one of the players I’m depending on this year in the Eurocup.
UNICS guard Keith Langford was the October MVP, while Khimki’s Alexey Shved won the award in November.
