7 Clubs started pre-season preparation

2020/21 season starts in less than a month. Khimki will host Zenit in season opener on September 20.

7 League clubs have already started their pre-season preparation.

The Army club have gathered at USH CSKA, however someone’s missing. Head coach Dimitris Itoudis who is diagnosed with COVID-19 communicated with the team via video call. Fortunately all the Red-blues who came to Moscow are well, and their tests are negative.
Non-Russian players had to take a path of adventures. Janis Strelnieks had a hard time travelling to Russia in his own car. Tornike Shengelia started his route with hitch-hiking, then had to travel on foot as Georgian air borders are closed now. The forward finally took a flight from Vladikavkaz.

Zenit started pre-season camp with Russian players only. Sergey Vozniuk manages the training process. The team also uses club’s basketball academy. The players gave their feedback on the academy:

Loko also practices with Russian players of the main team and youth candidates. The Lithuanians Mantas Kalnietis and Mindaugas Kuzminskas arrived to Krasnodar and perform indiviudal training program. The Americans have only started arriving to the city.

Russian roster started Niznhy’s pre-season. Zoran Lukic is already in the city and will soon join the team. Foreign players are getting ready to practice with NN.

All COVID-19 tests of PARMA players showed negative results, so the team is ready to practice. Non-Russian players will join the team soon, and until then only Russians are practicing.

Tsmoki were probably the first team to finish the vacation as the first session took place in Minsk in the end of July. Most of the players were present except Robert Lowery who is getting ready in the US and will come to Belarus later.

Zielona Gora have already played practice match. In the game they beat Czech Decin (110:64). Geoffrey Grosselle was the best with 19 points and 14 rebounds, Gabriel Lundberg scored 18. Gora also met Polish Gliwice and won 96:76.
