Zenit congratulates Pascual on jubilee and comes close to winning regular season

Zenit defeated Uralmash at home – 96:66 (33:23, 27:17, 18:12, 18:14).

Game progress
From the very beginning, the guests got involved in a fast-paced game. Uralmash managed to keep pace with Zenit for most of the opening quarter, but 2 long-range shots by Georgy Zhbanov put the hosts ahead. The St. Petersburg team ended the quarter with double-digit lead – 33:23. The second quarter began with Alex Poythress and Andrey Vorontsevich 12 points combined. The score difference grew rapidly and soon passed 20 points. This difference remained the same by halftime – 60:40.

Key moment
The Yekaterinburg team could not get back into the game. Although the pace of the game slowed down in the second half, Zenit continued to increase the lead. As a result, the St. Petersburg team has the biggest win in season series with Uralmash. It was the 18th win in a row for Xavier Pascual team, the third-longest winning streak in VTB League history.

X-factor
Zenit outperformed the opposing team in almost all key stats (especially in rebounding – 51:32), but first and foremost in offense. Zenit had 5 players, who scored 10 or more points, and 3 were a step away from that mark.

Facts
Javier Pascual had his 200th game as Zenit head coach. He now has 147 wins. He is only the third coach in the League to have 200 or more games with one team (the other two are Dimitris Itoudis and Zoran Lukic).

The St. Petersburg team has to win just one game to guarantee first place in the regular season, even if CSKA wins all of its remaining games.
