VTB United League President Sergey Kushchenko took part in ASB Friends Game and ASB Council during ASB Stars Game in Ufa.
On January 24th, Ufa hosts the Association of Student Basketball Stars Game – the most spectacular event in Russian college sports. 48 brightest student women and men players participated in Stars Game. The event is dedicated to the Russian Students Day and the birthday of one of the founders of the ASB, legendary athlete and coach Sergey Belov – he would have turned 81 on January 23, 2025.
The VTB United League President played in the traditional Friends Game for ASB team. The clash with the Bashkortostan team ended in a friendly tie – 64:64. Sergey Kushchenko also took part in the ASB Council.

– ASB is a long-standing partner of the VTB United League. The League Honorary President Sergey Ivanov was at the origin of the creation of the student league, and now we are watching the development of this large-scale project with great pleasure. We heard very good numbers at ASB Council today – the league is represented in 62 regions, and the number of athletes who play in ASB reaches 20 thousand. The system of university sports encourages universities to develop what they like – somewhere they concentrate on 5×5 basketball, somewhere on phygital-basketball.
ASB is traditionally a very strong organizer with creative ideas, and the upcoming Stars Game in Ufa is no exception. Every event gathers new people and those who constantly support the projects of the Association.
It is necessary to thank Bashkortostan, which hosts ASB once again – in 2020 there was a great event at Ufa-Arena. Now it is no less status “Dvorets Borby”, where the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports and the forum “Russia is a Sports Nation” were held in Ufa. All these events promote sport and basketball in general, and ASB is a very good driver for this.
