Zenit head coach Xavier Pascual is named VTB United League 2020/21 Coach of The Year.
Under Spaniard’s coaching Zenit spent best franchise season, taking 20 wins in 24 games and winning United League regular season. In the first play-off round Zenit will face PARMA.
Also, Zenit became the top defensive team: on average they allowed 71,6 points per game.
This is the sixth time the Coach of the Year has been awarded following the regular season. Previous winners were Khimki’s Rimas Kurtinaitis in 2014, CSKA’s Dimitris Itoudis in 2015, 2017 and 2018, and Zenit’s Vasily Karasev in 2016. In the 2018/19 season Astana head coach Emil Rajkovikj won this award.
