The opening minutes of the game were dominated by defense. In the first 8 minutes, the teams combined for just 7 points. Then, Andrey Lopatin and Alexey Shved formed the basis of UNICS’ 12-point run. After Shved’s three-pointer, the Kazan team lead reached double digits for the first time in the game – 22:10.

Zenit head coach Dejan Radonjic called a timeout, after which he was able to reorganize his team’s game. The St. Petersburg team began defending better on the perimeter and started making three-pointers. As a result, the guests had cut the deficit to 4 points – 29:33.
