UNICS guard Quino Colom has been named the VTB United League October MVP.
The MVP award is presented by ALROSA, a world leader in the diamond industry and one of Russia’s leading diamond makers. Like a diamond, the MVP has to meet the highest standards in every aspect of the game.

Colom beat out UNICS forward Stephane Lasme and CSKA guard Nando De Colo for the award in October.
Colom played in three three games in October, leading UNICS to a 3-0 record against Zenit, Kalev and Lokomotiv-Kuban. Against Zenit, the Spaniard recorded the League’s first double-double of the season, dropping 16 points and 10 assists. He is currently the League leader in assists, averaging eight per game.
Through one month of competition, the 29-year-old guard is averaging 13.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, 8.0 assists and a 17 efficiency rating.
– This MVP was a team effort, – noted Quino Colom. – We are enjoying an excellent start in the League. We have a pair of wins against direct rivals and now we need to keep it going.
